Intrinsic Safety Barriers BIPM

Intrinsic safety barriers BIPM are designed to ensure intrinsic safety in electrical circuits (power supply and / or signal) of measuring sensors, as well as for converting measuring signals of the sensors current (for BIPM-24K-A) used in alarm and emergency protection systems in explosive zones of classes 0, 1, 2, in which the formation of explosive mixtures of categories IIA, IIB, IIC, temperature groups T1 - T5 is possible.

Overview

Barriers ensure the intrinsically safe operation of equipment by limiting the voltage and current flowing through the circuits to intrinsically safe values.

Barriers BIPM-5K, BIPM-15K, BIPM-24K have light indication of line break and short circuit.

BIPM-24K-A barriers have light indication of line break and short circuit from the side of the sensor, indication of line break and short circuit from the side of the recording device, as well as indication of the supply voltage level at the output of the barrier.

The BIPM-24K-A barrier is included in the state register of measuring instruments.

Barrier versions with explosion protection marking [Ex ia Ga] IIA / IIB / IIC, [Ex ia Ga] IIA / IIB, and [Ex ia Ga] IIC can be used in environments with an explosive gas atmosphere (except for underground workings of mines and their surface structures).

Executions of barriers with explosion protection marking [Ex ia Ma] I can be used in underground mines and their surface structures, hazardous with firedamp and (or) combustible dust.

Supply options:

  • With an input rated voltage of 5V (BIPM-5), 15V (BIPM-15), 24V (BIPM-24) in a case in the form of a block with leads mounted on a printed circuit board
  • With an input nominal voltage of 5V (BIPM-5K), 15V (BIPM-15K), 24V (BIPM-24K, BIPM-24K-P. BIPM-24K-A) in a case mounted on a DIN rail
